Student Scholarship Form

Scholarship Guidelines

  • Criteria and Qualifications for applicants – as noted in IAAP Mission, Objectives, Purpose, Vision, and Core Values statement.  Also based on financial need, academic goal, current progress toward that goal, and intended use of the funds.
  • Scholarship awards will be limited to those furthering their education in the fields of technology, office administration, business, and management.
  • Awards will be made only during the student’s second semester at their school or college; a copy of his/her transcript will be required prior to the release of any funds.
  • Total funds available in the scholarship account will be determined by December 31 of each year.  Any funds received after that date will be deposited to the fund for the next year’s awards.
  • Two-thirds of the total funds available in the scholarship account as of December 31 will be awarded per year (subject to change based on total amount in account each year).
  • Number of scholarship awards to be determined each year based on number of applicants and total amount of funds available for disbursement.
  • Maximum scholarship award per person will be $500 dependent on funds available and number of applicants (subject to change based on total amount in account each year).
  • Of the total available scholarship funds to be awarded each year, a limit of $240 is designated to chapter members in support of the CAP exam registration fee (this is a one-time only per person award).
  • Scholarship awards will be held for no more than one year.  If the award is not used or requested by the recipient in a year’s time, the amount of the award will remain in the scholarship account.
  • Funds will be transferred from the scholarship account to the checking account only when the funds are requested and are ready to be disbursed – not before, unless there are extenuating circumstances and special arrangements have been made.
  • Yearly awards will be issued in the form of gift cards to the bookstore at the school or college the recipient will be attending.  CAP award recipients will receive a reimbursement check in the amount of the award only after submitting a letter of request (or their award letter) and a paid receipt for the registration fee.
