Message from Recording Secretary

To:    All GNED Chapter Presidents

We are about half way through the 2008-2009 IAAP year.  I sincerely hope that your Chapter year is going very well. Your GNED Board has been working very hard to present great workshops and  to keep you and your membership informed of IAAP happenings.

This year International community is sponsoring the Pathways to Excellence Recognition Awards Program; this program is supported by your GNED board.  We as your board are striving to accomplish the Division of Excellence.  At this time we are very close to achieving this goal and now we would like to help you achieve your Chapter of Excellent goal.

The first step to achieving the Chapter of Excellent goal is to sign  the Chapter of Excellence Commitment agreement.  I have attached this form.  Please fill it out and return it to me ASAP.  Please let me know if you have any questions in regards to this program.  I am here to help you achieve this goal.

It is also very important to encourage your membership to achieve their own Member of Excellence.  I have attached their first step - signing the Member of Excellence Commitment form.  Please forward this message to your chapter members asking them to fill out this form and return it to me ASAP.  (please cc me on this correspondence, that way your membership will have my e-mail address available)

Keep me informed as your chapter meets each criteria.  Your GNED Board and I are very proud of you all and we all want to encourage you and your chapter to obtain your Chapter of Excellence and for your members to achieve their Member of Excellence award.

Thank you

APD Event

Administrative Professionals Week April 19-25, 2009

Just a reminder – the Greater New England Division of the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) has assisted in planning a terrific dinner event for administrative professionals in the Metro West area on April 23, 2009.

This will be a great evening that you won’t want to miss!  If you haven’t purchased your ticket, you have until April 16thclick here for details.

During the networking/registration time we will have representatives from OfficeTeam and Boston Market at tables with samples and literature.  In addition, sample products from 3M, Avery and Sanford will be available.

We have arranged for a wonderfully catered buffet dinner complete with linen tablecloths, flower arrangements and complimentary wine.  Following dinner and prior to our terrific program, the GNED President, Robert Marshall CAP and Andrei Soran, CEO of Metro West Medical Center will welcome attendees and make some brief remarks about the value of administrative professionals in today’s workplace.

The evening will end with door prize drawings . . . we’d like to keep some of the items a surprise but we will tell you that we have some great items donated by a variety of vendors from office suppliers to a spa visit.

As we stated earlier, it certainly is an event you don’t want to miss!!

GNED Annual Meeting & Education Conference

Dear GNED Members:

The "early bird" registration deadline is fast approaching.  You can save $25 if you send in your registration postmarked by April 17th!

The Greater New England Division's Central MA Chapter has the most exciting fundraising opportunity the help support the 2009 GNED Annual Meeting and Education Conference  May 15th - 17th in Sturbridge, MA. We are selling teddy bears! The Vermont Teddy Bear Company has been so kind as to work with us in promoting our conference by offering to sell Business Woman and Business Man bears with a special IAAP promotion. For each bear sold, 10% will go to the 2009 GNED conference. Their offer of assisting us with such a unique fundraiser was too good to pass up. We hope you feel the same.

If you are interested in getting a bear for yourself, a co-worker, an IAAP buddy, then read and follow the directions on the attached flyer. Remember, whether you are calling the Vermont Teddy Bear Company or going online to place your order, make sure you use the reference code "IAAP."
